Did you know you can sign up to receive email and/or text notifications for snow ordinance updates and other city notices? Just click on the link below to get signed up. Starting now through Spring, snow ordinance notifications will be sent out through the City’s mass notification system, through local media outlets, the city’s website as well as posted on the police department’s social media pages (i.e. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
A snow emergency will be declared by the police department when either the National Weather Service predicts that two or more inches of snow or ice will fall in the Carlisle area or when two or more inches of snow or ice has fallen. (Carlisle Code of Ordinances Chapter 69)
The Carlisle Police Department asks that when a snow emergency goes into effect, that all vehicles be removed from public streets, alleys and public parking lots so snow removal efforts may begin. Vehicles that remain parked in the areas listed above will be subject to ticketing and/or being towed. Snow emergency parking bans will remain in effect for a period to include 24 hours after snowfall has stopped, unless shortened or lengthened by the PD when conditions are warranted. The Carlisle Police Department would like to thank everyone for your understanding and cooperation as we move into the winter months.
