CITY OF CARLISLE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, 11 April 2018; 6:30 P.M

Carlisle City Hall Council Chamber, 195 N. 1st St.

Elected Officials present were Mayor Drew Merrifield, Council Members Eric Goodhue, Rob VanRyswyk, Josiah Doughty and Doug Hammerand constituting a quorum. Absent was Council Member Dan McCulloch. Also present was City Administrator Andy Lent. Mayor Merrifield called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

OLD AND NEW BUSINESS & POSSIBLE ACTION

The main purpose of the meeting was to interview two potential candidates for the interim city administrator position, Cassandra Halls and Todd Kielkopf.

The Council first interviewed Cassandra Halls. The Council then discussed the city administrator search process with Pat Callahan of Callahan Municipal Consultants. Finally, the Council interviewed Todd Kielkopf.

A discussion took place among the Council and Mayor about the interviews that had taken place. Motion by Goodhue, seconded by Van Ryswyk to hire Todd Kielkopf for the interim city administrator position at a rate of $65 per hour effective 12 April 2018 with engagement not longer than time needed to have a fulltime city administrator hired. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.

Motion by Goodhue, seconded by Van Ryswyk to set a special city council meeting for Monday, April 30, 2018 at 6:30 PM at Carlisle City Hall, 195 N 1st Street, to begin the city administrator search process with Brent Hinson who works with Callahan Municipal Consultants. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.

Motion by Van Ryswyk, seconded by Goodhue to adjourn at 8:22 pm. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
