As the 4th of July holiday draws closer, the Carlisle Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors that although fireworks are legal, there are still restrictions that apply within the City of Carlisle. Consumer fireworks, as defined by Iowa Code 727.2(1a), may only be used from July 1- July 4 between the hours of 12 o’clock noon and 11:00 P.M. The other main restriction is that you may only use fireworks on your own property unless you have permission to do so from another property owner. (Chapter 41.14 Carlisle Code of Ordinances) If you have any questions or concerns you may contact the Carlisle Police Department at (515) 989-4121. Thanks for your cooperation.
