CPD Receives Greater Carlisle Foundation Grant

The Carlisle Police Department is pleased to announce that we’ve been awarded a $250.00 grant from the Greater Carlisle Community Foundation. This award will be used to purchase educational items to help bring awareness to our teenage drivers on the dangers and risks associated with drinking and driving and texting and driving. Sgt. Larson was on hand to accept the award on behalf of the police department.

#CPDSafeSummer

This summer CPD would like to see everyone being safe! We ask that as you go about your summer activities, you take a couple seconds to snap a quick picture showing off that you, your family or friends are being safe this summer! Whether it’s buckling your seat belt (prior to operation of course), wearing a life jacket while swimming or boating, looking both ways before crossing the street on the way to the library or pool or anything else that you’d like to share. Upload the picture to Facebook and tag us at Carlisle Police Department or use the hashtag #CPDSafeSummer in your post. We look forward to seeing all the safe pictures come in!

Golf Cart Inspections and Registrations

There have been some recent changes made to the Carlisle Code of Ordinances pertaining to golf cart operations within the City. One highlighted change is that the registration and inspection process is now required to be done annually instead of the previous one-time occurrence.

For those wishing to operate golf carts on city streets, the registration fee is $25.00 per year and the permit is valid from January 1st through December 31st of each year. Each year going forward, you will need to make arrangements with our office to complete the inspection process to ensure that all the code requirements are met prior to operation.

If you have any questions or concerns or need to register your golf cart for the remainder of 2019 calendar year, please contact our office at (515) 989-4121.

PD Administrative Office Closed Memorial Day

The Carlisle Police Department’s Administrative Office will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019 in observance of Memorial Day. Please take time to remember and honor those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

CPD Kicks Off Fiss’ Tix Program

The Carlisle Police Department’s Fiss’ Tix program is starting for the summer! While out on patrol, officers will be on the lookout for kids wearing bicycle helmets, looking both ways before crossing the street and using bicycle hand signals. If “caught” violators will get a “ticket” for a FREE ice cream cone at Fiss’!

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!…….. Be sure to fill out the back with the child’s name and phone number when you redeem it and at the end of the summer we will draw a winner to receive a voucher for a new bicycle! We would like to thank Fiss’ for their continued partnership of this great program!
