The City of Des Moines is hosting a couple of workshops on the emerald ash borer that has infiltrated into Iowa and attacks ash trees. We have about 600 ash trees in the public right-of-ways, parks, and on private property. Here’s the info on the workshops:

This one is during the day and is geared towards tree contractors, municipal workers and other tree professionals. Area communities are encouraged to send staff from public works, parks, community development and front line staff (answers phones) to the day session.

All metro residents are welcome to attend the evening session at the Botanical Garden. Metro communities are encouraged to promote the event their residents. All are welcome.
